Fall Sessions 2014

It's been a while since I have blogged, I share a few images here and there on facebook, but then I totally neglect the blog.  It's a travesty because the images are so much clearer when not being ripped to shreds by fb.  So here is a wonderful post about FALL!!!

I'm so excited that fall is here in Knoxville, TN and the leaves are beginning to change, pumpkin flavored things are everywhere, bon fire evenings are being planned and fall photography sessions are being booked!! Here is one of my favorite sessions from last fall.  It's coming time for this group of kids to get back in front of my camera again, but I never did share these on my webpage.  So here ya go!

Whirlwind Love {Knoxville, TN Wedding Photography}

... it was a whirlwind romance like none other. when you are young you dream of how your true love will come to you, how you will be romanced, how you will be proposed to. this story is right out of a dream. my little sister waited 20um.. years to meet her love, but she wasn't looking. he walked into our church and changed her world. when the time was right they went out, a month later he proposed and 2 months later they were married. God led him into our church from all the way down in Florida. it's neat to see how HE works.

  this was the SWEETEST day... 96 92 90 2-1 12 10 8 7-1 89-1 101-2 152

Since I was in the ceremony I was only able to take before and after pictures, but you get the idea. It was beautiful :).

What's holding you back?

A few days ago I posted a question on my facebook page asking what is holding people back from booking sessions.  I know there are people out there that are interested but they just don't book.  It's a question that many people have asked their potential clients and the answers are diverse from "I can't afford it", "I don't have time" to "I don't like the way I look".

Lets just take a moment and break these barriers down:
1. I can't afford it. - It's been my experience (in my own life) that I will afford what I want to afford (reasonably of course). Have you checked out my fees?  I think you will find that they are very affordable.  I have a package for most budgets.  The thing is that you're not just "paying fees" though.  You're investing in your memories.  I know home photos are easily taken, but there is just something nice about being able to look back and see your family at its finest and nobody is missing because they were behind the camera!  That is my job!  Not to mention what a great gift photos are!  Here's a thought - if you have a hubby that's not exactly on board with the idea - ask him for photos as a gift.  You won't regret it.

2. I don't have time - That's easily overcome as well, I try to make each session as convenient as possible.  I have 2 options, a 30 minute and an hour session.  I stick to those times!  A lot of my clients choose the 30 minute session and they get some great images to print as they'd like.   I also try to make it a convenient location, in fact if time is that much of an issue I can come right to your house.  You'd be amazed at what can be done in a backyard.

3. I don't like the way I look - Ugh, I know how you feel, I have struggled with this issue for years... but I just realized, I am the way that I am now and if I don't get images done with my daughter then she is just going to look back at a bunch of images of herself.  That's not what she is going to want to see when she gets older.  Anything could happen and she wants to be able to see me with her.  It's just not fair to our kids for us to carry this out because they love us the way we are and they want to remember us in their hearts and in pictures.   Also this is where professional pictures come into play.  As a photographer I know how to pose you and take flattering images so that you look your best.

Well, I hope we have knocked down some of the walls today!  :)  Now, get in touch with me about a session peeps!

Noah & Sarah - Save the Date session {Engagement Photography Oak Ridge, TN}

A couple of weeks ago Sarah contacted me to do a "Save the Date" photography session for her wedding.  Her sister in law Zee (whom I did maternity photos for) had told her about me and I was so happy to get to meet them.  Zee was a pleasure to photograph so I figured it would be the same with Sarah and I was right!  It was a joy working with them and I cannot wait until their beautiful December wedding! Here is a little bit about the couple and a few of the save the date session photos.

 Sarah and Noah met each other at a  grocery store where they both used to work.   They've known each other for 7 years and have been a couple for 5.  They are such a beautiful couple and are best friends as well. I like how they put it when asked about their relationship "There is no drama or uncertainty".  They love playing angry birds, brain teasers, riddles and such, but are also down for a good movie or a drive with no specific destination among other things. Here's the beautiful couple!

Downtown Clinton - kids session

I just love this street in Downtown Clinton.  My bff, Renee asked me to take pictures of her nieces and nephew and I was more than happy to oblige.  We decided Clinton was the place to go and this little area has it all.  The streets are lined with benches, antique signs, trees here and there.  The shops are adorable and nobody seems to mind you taking a few pictures outside their window.  There is a little park like area that is just a dream with a gazebo and painted brick wall.  I love all the little details that make the street what it is.  These 3 kids were just the easiest to work with.  Well, you can see for yourself, they are beautiful little girls and such a cute little boy.

Natalee - 1 Year

Oh how quickly this past year has gone by.  It's hard to believe that I have been photographing her since before she was born.  I have known her Mommy for a long time and I know how much of a blessing Natalee has been to her family.  It just goes to show that Gods timing is best. Here's a small collage of the sessions I've had with them followed up by her 1 year "sneak peek".
